Derek Hemmes
PresidentWith an education that includes Psychology, Business and Computer Science, Derek's professional history spans from working in public relations in the tourism industry to developing software for internet and design consulting companies. As a co-founder of one45, he has been involved in the design, development and implementation of one45's software packages and has gained a wide perspective of the medical education evaluation process. Derek's combination of strong technical, business and communication skills allows him to effectively work with our clients to fully understand their workflows and processes.

John Simms
Director of ImplementationAs a co-founder of one45, John has been involved in every aspect of product development since the company's inception. With over eight years of software experience, he leads one45's talented team of implementation coordinators ensuring a high quality of service and support. Prior to one45, John graduated with a degree in Mathematics and spent several years in the software industry designing and developing multi-tiered routing/mapping systems and scheduling software.

Brian Clare
Director of DevelopmentBrian graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and a minor in French. With a keen interest in medical informatics and project management, Brian is constantly working on systems to bridge the gap between interaction design and back-end development.

Jason Ladicos
Interaction DesignerJason graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Film. Previous to one45, Jason worked at the UBC Faculty of Medicine where he was involved on a number of web-based projects including providing support for an internal CV tool. Jason brings over eight years of web development experience to his role as Interaction Designer and is responsible for the overall direction of our user interfaces and for the direction and planning of our facultyAdmin module.

Jennifer Giles
Senior Sales ManagerBased out of Dallas, Jennifer brings 10 years experience in sales and marketing to the one45 team. For the past 4 years, Jennifer has worked with Cytiva Software to expand their corportate applicant tracking and recruiting software throughout the U.S. and also has experience with medical based performance management systems.

Ric Arseneau, MD, FRCPC, MA(Ed)
Medical Education ExpertRic is a general internist at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. He is the Director of Outpatient Services, Section Head of Medical Informatics for the Division of General Internal Medicine at St. Paul's Hospital, and is a co-founder of one45. His M.A. in Education focused on curriculum development and evaluation. He has also completed the course work for a Ph.D. in Adult Education. Ric is the former Associate Director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, and former Clerkship Director of Internal Medicine at the University of British Columbia. He is the recipient of numerous education and teaching awards including the ACMC (Association of Canadian Medical College) Young Educator Award for significant contribution to medical education in Canada, and the UBC Killam Teaching Prize. Dr. Arseneau is published in the area of medical and adult education, and has received the International Ceril O'Houle Award with 5 colleagues for their book, "Five Perspectives on Teaching in Adult and Higher Education".
