Changing Prefixes

To change a PGY (Post Graduate Year) prefix:

You can customize the PGY prefixes for your residents. By default, a program's prefix is the first two letters of it's name (e.g., the prefix for Internal Medicine is "IM"). However, many administrators prefer to use the same prefix for all of their internal residents (e.g., "IM") but a more descriptive prefix for each of their external residents. This is a good way of distinguishing between the two in your program.

Note: When you change a PGY prefix in one45, the changes are applied at the program level (i.e., everyone with administrative privileges will see the changes).

1 Click the Setup tab.

2 Click the Manage PGY Levels link.

3 Click in the box that contains the prefix you want to change.

4 Type the changes and click the Update Prefixes button.
