Different programs will use event categories in different ways. For example, surgery program administrators might assign categories based on the type of surgical procedure being discussed at the event (e.g., appendectomy, lymphadenectomy, etc). Internal medicine administrators, on the other hand, might assign categories based on more general topics (e.g., immunology, cardiology, etc.). You decide the most sensible way to organize the events in your program into categories.
During your initial orientation with one45, we will consult with you and create a list of event categories that you are likely to use. As you use the system, however, you may schedule an event under a new category. One45 automatically adds these new event categories to your list as you schedule them.
You can also add a new category to the list manually.
To add a new event category manually:
1 Click the Schedules tab.

2 Click the appropriate schedule under the Academic Session header.

3 Click the Prefs tab.
4 Click "Categories."

5 In the "new category" box, type the name of the new category and click the Save button. To delete a category, click "del" beside it.

| You can create a category called To Be Announced, or simply T.B.A., for events whose category has not yet been decided upon. |
| If you delete a category, it is removed from the list but not from any events that have already been scheduled. |
